We also collect usage data automatically, such as device information, IP addresses, and interaction patterns to improve our services.

  • To provide, maintain, and improve Shepherdly services
  • To authenticate users and secure your church workspace
  • To process AI-assisted sermon preparation features
  • To send service-related communications
  • To comply with legal obligations

3. Data Sharing & Storage

Your church data is isolated within your workspace. We do not sell personal information. Data may be shared with:

  • Service providers: Authentication (WorkOS), database (Convex), AI processing (Anthropic/OpenAI) - all bound by data protection agreements
  • Legal requirements: When required by law or to protect rights and safety

4. Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures including encryption in transit (TLS), role-based access controls, and regular security audits. Authentication is handled through WorkOS with enterprise-grade security.

5. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights to:

  • Access, correct, or delete your personal data
  • Export your data in a portable format
  • Opt out of certain data processing
  • Withdraw consent where applicable

6. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide services. Church administrators can delete member data at any time. Upon account deletion, we remove personal data within 30 days, except as required for legal compliance.

7. Children's Privacy

Shepherdly is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If we learn we have collected such data, we will delete it promptly.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy periodically. We will notify you of material changes via email or in-app notification. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
